FCC Bans Sale of New Devices From Chinese Companies Huawei, ZTE and Others

My thought is … this was obviously coming, and I’m surprised it took this long for the US government to enforce this. In short, the Federal Communications Commission voted unanimously on Friday to ban U.S. sales of new Chinese telecommunications equipment and devices produced by Huawei and ZTE—as well as to restrict the use of other Chinese-made video surveillance equipment—over national security concerns. This is based on years of concerns for supply chain attacks related concerns as well as general associated vulnerabilities.
